I wanted to make this blog post so I can document what is in my makeup collection now and then I can look back in the future to see if it has grown or look at what I used to use and I thought that it could be fun to do a blog post to show you all!
To some people this would be a lot of makeup and to some it wont be a lot at all... I'd love to extend my 'collection' further. I haven't pictured absolutely everything like little sample products that I probably wouldn't use again but most of my collection is here!
I will name a few of my favourite products but if you would like more info on any of the items shown, feel free to leave a comment
Primers
I don't use primers every day but I love to use the Smashbox photo finish primer, it makes my skin feel so smooth and dries so quickly. The stay Matte by Rimmel is also a really good, cheap alternative to the Smashbox primer. I do like the Porefessional by Benefit but I think it takes too long to settle and I normally like to apply foundation straight away. I also have the Smashbox lid primer which is brilliant too.
Colour Correcting Concealers
On a good dark circle day, I tend to use the MUA Pro base peach concealer but on a bad day I use the NYX Orange concealer. Orange cancels out the dark circles under your eyes making you look more awake! For highlighter/concealer I use the Eraser Eye by Maybeline and for blemishes I use a MAC Concealer in NW15- this is a bit darker than normal as I don't want to be highlighting spots.
Liquid Foundations
All of these foundations are oil free and therefore better for spot prone skin. I use the Clinique and Chanel foundation most depending on the coverage I am wanting. The L'oreal True match is a great high street alternative to the more expensive brands.
Bronzers and Highlighters
For highlighter I use the Sleek contour kit and for bronzer I usually use the Laguna Bronzer by NARS but this is in a full face palette which is shown later on in this post! I'm not keen on the MAC bronzer I have, I find it quite orange and shimmery and I HATE Shimmer bronzers :-(
Blushes and Finishing Powders
My everyday blush would be the MAC in the colour Cubic and Essence blushes, they are really lovely natural peachy colours. Sleek also have amazing powder blush products that are extremely pigmented and blendable! I only ever use the MAC Studio Fix powder on my T-zone where I have applied a highlighting concealer because I have quite dry skin and powders tend to stick to dry parts of your face but these powders are great for oily skin! (the laguna bronzer by NARS is on this picture)
Brows and Eyeliner
I mainly use the MUA Brow kit for my brows and sometimes a touch of Spiked eyebrow pencil by MAC. I used to use the NYX brow bar but the colours were a little too dark but its always great to have a backup! Every day I use either the Rimmel liquid eyeliner or the Maybelline master precise liquid eyeliner. Sometimes I use gel eyeliners but I find they are very time consuming and if you're in a rush its not the best thing to be applying!
Mascara
My all time favourite mascara is the L'oreal Telescopic Mascara, its just amazing, I use it every day and have done for so long! Now I hate wearing false lashes and the Younique 3D Fibre Lash Mascara is a great alternative to wearing falsies. I did a blog post about this mascara which I will link at the end.
Lip pencils and Lipsticks
I have quite a few MAC lipsticks, I just find that they are moisturising, they stay on for a long time and they're really easy to apply. My favourite colours are Plumful and Patisserie. My favourite lip liner is pink treat by MAC and the Younique liner in the colour Posh.
Eyeshadow palettes
The Naked 1 and 3 palettes are my favourite for every day makeup, I find that they are so easy to apply and the colours are really quite neutral and creates a lovely natural smokey eye. I think that MAC shadows are generally better for a more dramatic/matte look.
Sleek and NYX eyeshadow palettes are a great alternative to the more expensive brands like MAC or Urban Decay. The colours are so pigmented and blend really well too. They come in a wide range of colours and are also great when creating a more dramatic/dark eye
I only have one pigment by MAC and its the Rose colour and its soooooo beautiful. Its great as a light blush but my favourite is to put it on the eyes for a more glittery look. I always spray my brush first with fix + by MAC just to help the pigment come out more and so I don't get as much fall out
Setting Sprays
I really like to set my makeup with either one of these sprays. I can't decide which is better so I just use whichever is nearest to me. They are the MAC fix + spray and the Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray.
And thats all from my makeup collection! Now I put it into pictures it doesn't look like a lot (to me anyway) and I know my makeup collection will probably keep on growing. I would like to look back at this post in a couple of years time to see if the collection has grown or gotten smaller! I hope you enjoyed this post, please find the link to my blog post for the Younique mascara below and if you have any questions about any of the products shown please ask!
