How I grew my hair 1 inch in 2 weeks!

I know this sounds CRAZY because on average, hair grows to approximately 2cm per month but it really does work!

(Disclaimer- I am not any kind of hairdresser, I've never had training with hair, this is just what i use on my hair which I find helps a lot)

About my hair
So I have what they call 'white people hair'. Hairdressers have always told me that my hair is 'really fine but I have a lot of it' so basically my hair is thin(ish). I've always dreamed of long, thick and shiny hair. I have my hair cut nearly every 12 weeks and I really do recommend that you have your hair cut often as this also stimulates hair growth! My hair is also naturally quite straight so I don't use a lot of heat on my hair

Now my hair is probably medium length but I just want it to look thicker and more full (and a little longer of course) What more is there to ask??

So I did a little research online and I came up with this home remedy! Its so easy to make you just need castor oil and coconut oil! You can get both of these items on eBay/amazon or you can sometimes get these oils from health stores (e.g. Holland and Barratt). In this post I just wanted to share with you how I make and apply the oils onto my hair!

This is a picture of before and after using the home remedy for just 2 weeks!

What you will need:
Castor oil
Coconut oil
A teaspoon
Microwaveble bowl
A microwave

1- Start by pouring approximately 3 tablespoons of castor oil into the microwaveable bowl, I do guess this amount but if you're finding its not covering your hair, you can easily add more to the mixture.

2- Then take a teaspoon of coconut oil and add it into the castor oil. The coconut oil then needs to melt into the castor oil so pop it in the microwave for 10 seconds. Castor oil is also easier to apply when its a bit warm.

3- Mix the oils together to create a thin oily substance and use your fingers to apply it to your hair.

4- Massage the oils gently all around your scalp. After your scalp is fully covered, use your fingers to 'comb' the mixture through the ends of your hair. Try not to apply too much of the oil on your hair as it gets quite runny if too much is applied. I tend to put quite a bit of oil on the ends of my hair because I've found that it also helps the condition by reducing split ends and dryness.

5- Then tie your hair up in either a bun or ponytail and leave it in your hair for around 2-3 hours! If you want you could use a shower cap and leave the oils on over night.

6- After 2-3 hours wash your hair thoroughly in the shower with your regular shampoo. You may find that you have to wash my hair about 3 times with shampoo making sure you scrub the front of your scalp well so your hair doesn't get greasy. Also if you want you could use a bit of conditioner on the ends of your hair to help the condition even more!

If there is any of the oil left over in your hair you will be able to feel it so if that does happen, just wash it again with shampoo until its all gone. Gently towel dry your hair and brush it through with whatever brush/comb you prefer and you're done!

I try and do this routine 4-5 nights per week but sometimes you just don't have time but I've found that it really has worked! As you can see by the pictures! So I've drawn lines on the height of my head, shoulder level and the level my hair was to start just so you can see how much it really has grown!

I did dye my hair during this process as well hence the change of colour but its made absolutely no difference to the growth of my hair. I also feel like my hair is beginning to look thicker and more shiny which is just what I want! I am going to carry on with this process and I may update you in another 2 weeks to see what the difference is!

I hope if any of you try this method that it works for you too!
